Chukuni River Bridge, Ontario, Canada - Joint Fill

The project

The Chukuni River Bridge, Ontario, was completed in the summer of 2010. It is 101 m long with a clear span of 83.5 m and is the longest single span bridge in Canada. It was constructed with four 3.7 m deep steel beams and 54 precast concrete deck panels. The UHPC field-cast connections were used to interconnect the precast concrete panels to each other (transverse joints and center line longitudinal), the shear pockets to connect the deck to the girders and in the haunches between the underside of the deck and the girders.
