Bishops Gate

Over 270m hgh, more than 60 storeys, this building is the new star of the city’s skyline. Finished in early 2020, the tower stands at 62-storey, 278 m high.

A massive accomplishment and incredible addition to the urban fabric of central London, wind conditions at the street level were proving problematic and so Ductal® Archistructure solution was devised.

The solution was to extend elegant structural Ductal® UHPC panels out from the façade to help regulate the airflow and solar gain at the lower levels. These unique cantilever panels with their sharp lines are cast in a white structural Ductal® mix design and have the added benefit of framing the street level and reflecting architectural uplighting. This innovation was made possible by the talented team at Thorp Precast Limited and Ductal® l's advanced material technology representing 26 years leading Ultra High-Performance Concrete innovation.
